Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.808934 Composed by Aldo Finzi. 20th Century. Score. 16 pages. Preludio s.r.l. #5213937. Published by Preludio s.r.l. (A0.808934). Aldo Finzi's Due valzer lenti for piano that have been performed in a world première by Simonetta Heger in Vico Equense (near Naples) on October 2001 were written, together with the lyric Catharine and another piano piece Tempo di fox-trot, when the composer was hoping to move shortly to the United States. Unfortunately, this never happened although Finzi already had a contract with a music school in Chicago. In both waltzes a short introduction precedes the dance theme and the pleasant piano style, certainly nearer to the Pavana's noble simplicity than to the complex writing of the Toccata, vaguely suggests thoughts of George Gershwin.

Baritone Horn TC,Euphonium,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.552841 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Holiday,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 10 pages. Jmsgu3 #3447443. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.552841). Baritone Horn version of Moment Musicaux, Op. 94 (D. 780) No. 3 by Franz Schubert, published in 1828. Duration: 1:53 Score 6 pg. 54 ms. Alto Sax 1 pg. Piano part 3 pg. One of Schubert's most well-known pieces. This is an effective recital encore due to its brevity and range of expression. Could work well for a variety of occasions: wedding receptions, church services (Easter), and anniversaries. It seems like a pleasant dance, unlike some previous dance music. Schubert improvised these dances at parties for his friends.  Although conceived on-the-fly, these dances are the work of a genius. Composers have similarly elevated dance music to artistic status. As a result, they freed it from the original purpose of dancing. Certainly, the older masters used the dance forms as vehicles for complex treatments. Here, however, Schubert retains the dance-like quality while finally expressing his innermost thoughts and emotions. The dance is certainly filled with a doleful expression, yet the texture remains even more light and refined. Therefore, to perform these with sensitivity we probably need to use a light but accurate touch. The accompaniment pattern needs to be crisp and delicate â probably even in the more forceful parts. The piano pedal should also be used very carefully so as a result not to blur the outline. Instead, it should contribute to the dynamic quality of the piece. Schubert Franz Schubert (1797â1828) was, in fact, a famous Austrian composer. Moreover, he composed during the late Classical and early Romantic periods. Schubert was comparatively prolific. He wrote more than 600 secular vocal works, seven symphonies, and, correspondingly, a massive amount of piano and chamber music. Critics agree, as a matter of fact, that his most famous works include his Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667 (also known as the Trout Quintet), the Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D. 759 (Unfinished Symphony), the last sonatas for piano (D. 958â960), and the song cycles Die schöne Müllerin (D. 795) and Winterreise (D. 911). Education Schubert was furthermore a musical child prodigy. He studied violin with his father as well as piano with his older brother. In addition, when Schubert was eleven he studied at Stadtkonvikt school, where he became familiar with the orchestral music of Haydn, Mozart, and likewise Beethoven. In due time he left school and returned home where he studied to become an educator; nevertheless, he continued studying composition with Antonio Salieri. Performance Eventually, Schubert was admitted to the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde as a performer. This appointment straightaway established his name in Vienna as a composer and pianist. Finally, he gave his only composition recital in 1828. He died suddenly a few months later probably due to typhoid fever. Legacy Schubertâs music was by and large underappreciated while he was alive. There were all in all only a few enthusiasts in Vienna. After he died, however, interest in his work in fact increased. Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms, and other famous composers in due time discovered his compositions. Nowadays, historians rank Schubert expressly among the greatest composers of the era, and his music remains in general very popular.

Instrumental Duet Guitar,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.977033 Composed by Paul SanGregory. Contemporary. Score and parts. 48 pages. Distant Engraver Music #3534793. Published by Distant Engraver Music (A0.977033). (Score and parts are included in a single download.)As the pun used for the title for this piece suggests, it is a suite of generally light movements that still possess a certain amount of depth. Though the harmonies are generally pleasant, seeming to have popular or jazz origins, there are various musical spices adding more body to that sweetness. The first movement, Improvisation, captures the mood of a free-form prelude, as if the players were improvising on a set of chords, some of which seem to be influenced by jazz or other non-classical idioms. Dialogue, the second movement, is a conversation between the violin and guitar. There are times when one instrument accompanies the other, but generally both players add important thoughts to the rhythmically diverse conversation. The third movement begins with a guitar accompaniment supporting the violinâs Song. Later, these two roles are reversed. Dance is essentially a disagreement. The violin plays a quasi-aristocratic eighteenth-century gavotte while the guitar prefers a sombre chromatic waltz. There is emphatic disagreement over which dance the players should perform, but in the end a solution seems to be found. The last movement, Pursuit, is a playful chase that is interrupted by a dreamy pause to catch oneâs breath. Complete performance duration is ca. 15 minutes.

Waltzes can be quite pleasant to listen to, with their simple triple metered music that makes you want to dance. But how does one evoke a sense of fantasy? Well, by giving the piece an imaginative title. So, what's this about satyrs? Hmm... let's make them prance around in a lonely, forgotten forest. Does the music match the scene you have built in your thoughts? Enjoy listening and leave comments on what you think about it. Follow the composer at https://www.facebook.com/gavinkoh1970

Published by Black Diamond Performance (A0.880727). This piece, by Emmy-award-winning composer Kurt Bestor comes from his popular album The Dance which traces a little girl who dances and her father who watches in the wings. Reverie comes later in the album as the father, as his daughter has grown, reflects on the various chapters of her dance life and his memories. The song is written in a gentle waltz as if loving father dances with his daughter. This piece is perfect for an intermediate pianist and is a good one to illustrate bringing simple emotion into a piece. rev·er·ie - a state of being pleasantly lost in one's thoughts; a daydream.www.kurtbestor.com

Tenor Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767084 Composed by Mike Lyons. Contemporary. 7 pages. Lyons Music Services #1646913. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767084). This is a setting of the poem The Rainy Day by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The music reflects both the gloominess of the first two stanzas and the hope of the final stanza. The text is very reflective, focussing on the thoughts of an older man as he looks at his life and sees the sadness and unpleasantness he has lived through, but eventually realises that everyone has these traumas at some point and one has to move on. There is always hope. The tempo should be relaxed but forward moving, giving the tenor the room he needs to shape the words.
